As part of Safeguarding Adults Week, Ann Craft Trust Safeguarding Adults Manager Laura Thorpe discussed how we can start conversations about sexuality and relationships to prevent misunderstanding and vulnerability.
Laura explored attitudes to sexuality and personal relationships to help professionals develop a consistent approach to promoting the rights of those they support to be sexual beings.
Laura discussed:
- Appropriate and inappropriate care practices
- The importance of establishing positive approaches when dealing with sensitive issues
- Familiarising yourself with organisational policy and procedure
