Magpie Dance closed the 2025 Safeguarding Adults Conference in Nottingham with an uplifting interactive performance.
Magpie Dance is the UK’s leading dance charity for people with learning disabilities.
“We believe that a learning disability should not be a barrier to personal and artistic success. Through dance, our participants gain life, social, and communication skills, along with health and wellbeing benefits.”
Their keynote speech at the 2025 Safeguarding Adults Conference introduced the group, and their work. It included two performances: Human Not Statistic, and Speak Up! A number of the dancers discussed their involvement with the company, and they closed with an interactive workshop led by a number of their dancers.
