Preventing Abuse – MacIntyre’s Everyone Everywhere – Safeguarding Adults Week Online Seminar

Preventing Abuse - MacIntyre’s Everyone Everywhere

As part of Safeguarding Adults Week, MacIntyre introduced their Everyone Everywhere initiative with a free online seminar.

Everyone Everywhere is about recognising yourself as a contributor to your local neighbourhood. When you help others and get involved in local activities, you feel part of something wider, and you feel valued.

In this free online seminar for Safeguarding Adults Week, MacIntyre discussed how participating in your local community can intrinsically prevent abuse.

Everyone Everywhere reminds us all that as an organisation we can support people to start and maintain relationships with others, and not just with those who are there to support them. But we need to do this in a way that makes sense for ourselves and other people. There’s no blueprint for this!

We can start by finding out what people are good at and what they care about. We can then start looking around at what’s happening and start connecting.

In this seminar, Kathryn Yates and Laura Selby discussed the impact of the Everyone Everywhere initiative. They explored how building connections can increase your self-worth and belief. This can lead to more confident and empowered communities, which can help to prevent abuse.
