Nicola Dean Safeguarding Adults in Sport

Many of you will now be aware of the sad news about the death of our colleague Nicola Dean, who sadly passed away on 5 February following a long illness.

Nicola was the first Safeguarding Adults in Sport Manager at the Ann Craft Trust, having worked with us since 2015. In that time, she transformed the focus and priority that sporting organisations continue to give to safeguarding adults, doing so with a mixture of knowledge, humour, and above all, passion.

Nicola’s determination to do the right thing was infectious, and her reassuring presence was comforting. She was able to take a complicated situation and simplify it for others, always doing so with a smile on her face. Because of that, people trusted Nicola and actively sought out her views on safeguarding adults in sport.

Nicola will be missed greatly by everyone at the Ann Craft Trust and the wider world of sport.

The Ann Craft Trust is setting up a book of condolences for colleagues to share their memories of Nicola. You can contribute to the book by completing this short form.

We will be publishing a full tribute to Nicola in due course.

Our thoughts remain with Nicola’s family and friends.
