Introducing Kimberley Walsh – Our New Safeguarding Adults in Sport Manager!

Kimberley Walsh Safeguarding Adults in Sport

Hello all!

I am excited to start as a Safeguarding Adults in Sport Manager for the Ann Craft Trust, in a new role funded by UK Sport.

I have been involved in sport for 30 years. For 12 years I worked for a National Governing Body in a variety of roles:   development, participation, safeguarding and compliance.

I represented Great Britain and trained as a full time elite athlete. UK Sport and Sport Scotland supported my sporting career, so I have first-hand experience of performance sport. I look forward to supporting UK Sport-funded organisations to embed a culture where safeguarding adults’ welfare and wellbeing is routine.

My work within safeguarding has been based on developing awareness, best practice and understanding of safeguarding both children and adults. I am passionate about athlete welfare and wellbeing. My aim is to help create a safe, fun and open environment for everyone. I also want to help reduce misconceptions and barriers.

I am looking forward to continuing the great work ACT does for sport and activity organisations, and I look forward to meeting everyone I will be working with over the coming months.
