The Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC) has published its final report.
In a statement, the commission said:
Our Report and recommendations to drive equity, diversity and inclusion forward within cricket is with the ECB for their consideration. The ECB [England and Wales Cricket Board] has agreed to produce a full public response within three months. This will set out whether they have accepted the ICEC’s recommendations and will detail the actions they plan to take in response.
Key recommendations from the report include:
- The ECB publishes an updated ‘State of Equity in Cricket’ report every three years.
- A new set of cultural values (i.e. principles and expected behaviours) to guide organisations and individuals participating in English and Welsh cricket.
- The ECB develops a programme of ongoing ‘culture health checks’, to ensure that it can track and monitor the progress of its initiatives to improve the cultural health of the game.
