Online Sport Discussion Forum

Help us develop best practice in safeguarding adults in sport!

We want to develop some shared understanding with a discussion forum with sports participants and staff.

  • What does safeguarding mean to you?
  • And what can individuals, clubs, and organisations do to keep people safe?

Among other things we’ll discuss possible safeguarding risks, and whose responsibility it is to keep people safe. We’ll also explore good practice, and some examples of what happens when things go wrong.

When: Monday 1 June, 2020.

Times: 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

Where: Online.

It’s free to attend this online forum, but as we’ve limited places, please book your place by completing the form below.

Who is this Forum For?

We’re interested in talking to anyone involved in sports or activity at a grassroots, semi-professional, professional or elite level.

This could include:

  • Participants.
  • Coaches.
  • Instructors.
  • Physiotherapists.
  • Volunteers.
  • Parents and carers.

Book Your Place

This forum is now fully-booked! But we aim to run our participation forums once a month. Head here to book your place at July’s participation forum.

If you can’t wait to share your thoughts, you can still have your say!

We have two surveys – one for sports participants, and one for staff.

We can also send you a paper copy of the survey, and we have easy-read formats available too. Get in touch to request a physical copy.

What Other Safeguarding Issues Can We Talk About?

Changes in legislation and the current lockdown will pose a challenge for any safeguarding champion.  Every Wednesday we will host a dedicated safeguarding hour on Twitter. This is an opportunity to ask questions and get the support from the wider safeguarding community online.

To join in, just use the hashtag #ACTSafeguardingHour.
