
We have designed a new eLearning course that provides an essential introduction to the Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
We have created this course for anyone who works in any industry that directly or indirectly supports people. It will also be useful for anyone who just wants to learn more about the MCA, and how it relates to all of our lives.
This course will give you the opportunity to:
- Learn what the Mental Capacity Act (2005) is for
- Understand who the Act applies to
- Identify what capacity is
- Understand the two-stage test of capacity
- Identify the five core principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005)
- Understand who can assess capacity
- Explore how you can support and promote a person’s capacity
- Look into the best interest’s process
- Briefly explore the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
- Know other safeguards under the Mental Capacity Act
- Use further resources
