Everyone involved with sport and physical activity should be able to participate or volunteer without the fear of abuse
Clubs and community groups play a vital role in keeping their people safe from harm. Buddle’s latest animation, developed in partnership with the Ann Craft Trust and the CPSU, explores the key principles of safeguarding, including:
- The importance of putting safeguarding at the heart of an organisation’s operations.
- The five shared principles of safeguarding.
- The differences between safeguarding children and adults.
- How to appropriately and effectively deal with a safeguarding concern
The core message is that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. It ensures everyone has a safe experience when getting involved in sport and physical activities
The video offers an introduction to safeguarding and highlights the differences between child and adult safeguarding and what you need to do should you have a concern. The video explores the moral and legal duties of safeguarding children and adults in the context of sport and physical activity. It also shares some tips on how you can help foster safe, positive experiences for everyone by following the shared principles of safeguarding.

What people think so far…
“I have watched the new Safeguarding Children and Adults video which the Ann Craft Trust and CPSU have produced with Buddle and think that it looks absolutely fantastic! It’s perfect for us at Boccia England and our community given the demographic of our players within Boccia. I’ll be sharing it with our network of BE Member Clubs and encourage their leads/ Club Welfare Officers watch it so that they know the principles of both children and adult safeguarding to ensure that their club/ group provides a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy playing Boccia.”
