The 2026 DBS Annual Conference will take place 6-7 October.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) plays a vital role in safeguarding adults. The 2026 DBS Annual Conference will bring together safeguarding professionals, employers, regulators, policymakers, and sector leaders from across the UK.
Over two days, the conference will explore the latest developments in safeguarding, legislation, barring, eligibility, information sharing, and safer recruitment.
Ann Craft Trust at the DBS Annual Conference
At this year’s DBS Annual Conference, The Ann Craft Trust will be talking about checks for the Adult Workforce in Sport and Physical Activity. We’ll also have the opportunity to raise some of the questions we regularly come across with the DBS.
As part of this, we would like to offer you the opportunity to submit any questions you may have.
Examples of the types of topics we will explore include:
- Are instructors/coaches eligible for an Enhanced DBS check if they run sessions with adults but do not know if the participants are in receipt of any health or social care services as outlined in Paragraph 9 of the legislation?
- Are instructors/coaches eligible for an Enhanced DBS check if they run sessions for a specific group with a health or social care condition?
