‘Look closer’ to Help Spot Exploitation and Abuse

Support for Survivors During Coronavirus

Exploited young people don’t always look and act vulnerable. If something doesn’t feel right, it might not be.

Local Authorities, British Transport Police, National Crime Agency and The Children’s Society are working in partnership to ask the public to ‘look closer’ to recognise and respond to signs of exploitation and abuse.

They have produced the Look Closer guide which explores:

  • How to spot the signs a young person may be experiencing exploitation or abuse.
  • How to start a conversation with a young person who might be at risk.
  • How to report your concerns.
