
This forum is for people who take on the Lead Safeguarding role in national independent, commercial or community sport and activity organisations.
This in-person forum will provide the opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in safeguarding adults. It is also a chance to network with your peers, and share safeguarding best practice tips.

Catherine Sykes, Safeguarding Adults Manager for the Sport and Activity Sector, will facilitate the forum. Discussion topics will include:
- Due diligence checks for clubs, groups, and freelancers
- Recording concerns, or due diligence checks for clubs and groups
- Understanding capacity and consent
- Managing safeguarding adult concerns
The forum will also feature the following sessions and speakers:
- Safer Culture Safer Sport – Richard Whitehead MBE, Ann Craft Trust Patron and Stuart Sale, Ann Craft Trust CEO.
- DBS and Safer Recruitment – Lizzie Whittington, DBS outreach team, leading a roundtable discussion on measures we can put in place to mitigate risk.
