CSE & Learning Disabilities: For Practitioners Specialising in Learning Disabilities

Where is it?

University of Nottingham, University Park,
Nottingham,
NG7 2RD, United Kingdom

When is it?

Wednesday, 21st March, 2018

This course is aimed at practitioners who work within learning disability communities and environments. You might work in the following environments:

  • Special or residential schools
  • Community learning disability teams
  • Children’s support worker
  • Health, education or social care with specialist learning disability experience

A young person’s ability to understand risks, respond to social cues, make sense of consent and relationships can be challenging for them. This can lead to them being labelled as challenging and this judgement prevents behaviours being seen as a form of communication. This course seeks to develop your knowledge and awareness of the complexities of CSE and relating the effect and impact back to young people with learning disabilities and difficulties.

Delegates will develop their practical and communication skills in order for interventions to be more effective when supporting young people whether they have a diagnosis or not.

£99 per person

Please Note: We may charge a fee for cancellations within 28 days of the event. If you cannot make it, you are more than welcome to send an alternative delegate in your place.
