In this free online seminar for Safeguarding Adults Week, we’ll explore how intersectionality can impact our capacity to Make Safeguarding Personal.
What happens when a person’s identity is shaped by multiple experiences, characteristics, and communities?
How can understanding intersectionality help us make safeguarding more person-centred and inclusive?
Ann Craft Trust’s Safeguarding Adults in Sport Manager Hannah Shah will deliver this online seminar that explores how factors such as disability, race, gender, sexuality, faith, age, and other aspects of identity can influence a person’s experience of safeguarding.
Date: Tuesday 17 November
Time: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Online
Cost: Free
This seminar will consider the barriers that can prevent people from feeling heard, safe, and supported. We will also discuss what organisations can do to respond more effectively.
Drawing on the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal, this session will challenge us to think beyond one-size-fits-all approaches and reflect on how we might prioritise voice, choice, and inclusion in safeguarding practice.
