Join us for the ACT AGM 2020 followed by a virtual seminar!
For the first time ever, we’re conducting our AGM entirely online!
Date: Thursday 19 November 2020
Time: 13.30 – 14.30
Location: Online Microsoft Teams Session
The AGM will start at 13.30.
At 13.45 we’ll host a short seminar: Understanding the Impact of Racism in Practice with Ineke Houtenbos, Senior Training & Development Consultant, NSPCC.
The aim of the seminar is to raise awareness and understanding of:
- The terminology used when talking about racism
- Unconscious bias
- The nature and impact of micro-aggressions and micro-affirmations
- Responses of BAME people to racist structures and language
The seminar will cover key terminology, and the implications that racism might have on safeguarding. We’ll explore ways in which organisations might commit to becoming more diverse. We’ll also consider actions that people might take on an individual level to combat racism.
