We are marking the start of Safeguarding Adults Week 2022, with the ACT AGM  followed by a virtual seminar! 

AGM & Self-harm Seminar

Time: 2.00pm-3.30pm

Location: Online Microsoft Teams Session

The AGM will start at 2.00pm.

At 2.15pm we’ll host a short seminar: Self-harm and Safeguarding for Adults with Helen Matthews and Andy Thompson.

In this workshop we will:

  • Define what we mean by self-harm.
  • Explore how to spot the signs that someone may be at risk.
  • How practitioners can effectively work with adults who self-harm.
  • How practitioners can support and signpost those who are at risk.

Our Speakers

Helen Matthews has decades of working with child and adult exploitation survivors. She is the CEO of Street Teams, a charity creatively responding to all aspects of exploitation and harm.

Andy Thompson is Managing Director of CYP First and a previous Registered Manager of Ofsted. Andy is a national trainer and speaker with expertise in trauma, Stockholm Syndrome, behaviour management, physical intervention and working with survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.

Helen and Andy are passionate professionals who aim to deliver creative, innovative and practical training informed through their years of experience supporting people at risk of harm and abuse. Their training seeks to transform your practice and response to people at risk of harm.
