Join us for an introductory training session which will explore how to support those at risk of self-neglect.
This training will give you an overview of self-neglect and begin to explore the key challenges of working with individuals who are at risk of, or experiencing, self-neglect. The training will explore best practices in supporting and responding to such situations, alongside an understanding the legislative framework that covers self-neglect. The session will include an interactive discussion about how to apply the legislative frameworks appropriately and effectively in your practice.
What will the training cover?
- Identity what self-neglect is and what it looks like.
- Understanding self-neglect within the context of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
- Exploring the key challenges associated with this work.
- Reflecting on how to respond appropriately to concerns of self-neglect.
Who can attend?
This course welcomes those working across sectors in paid and voluntary roles. it would be ideally suited to those working in:
- Social care/support roles
- Healthcare employees
- Voluntary/community organisations/care providers
- Hospital employees
This course will be run online on Tuesday 28 from 1.00-4.00pm.
The fee for this course is £99 per person.

Payment can be made by bacs or bank transfer – details will be included on the invoice which will be emailed prior to the training taking place.
