Olive Stevenson

Biography

Olive Stevenson is Professor Emeritus of Social Work at Nottingham University, where she holds a continuing contract for the supervision of research, including doctoral students. She holds honorary degrees from the University of East Anglia and Kingston. She was made a CBE in 1994. Her academic and research interests have been in child welfare and the care of vulnerable adults, on which she has published extensively. In recent years , she has focussed on adult and child protection, with particular reference to neglect. The second edition of her book "Neglected Children and their Families", has just been published .(Blackwell). She is also preparing an article on Neglect as an aspect of elder mistreatment. She has been involved in many Serious Case Reviews, including a complex case involving adults and children with learning disabilities.
