Biography
I obtained a law degree from Brunel University in 1976 and joined the Magisterial Service. I was admitted as a solicitor in 1982. I spent 2 years in publicly funded defence work, concentrating upon work in the Youth Court and representing parents in Care proceedings. I joined the Crown Prosecution Service in 1988 and now lead a team of lawyers and caseworkers dealing with a wide variety of offences investigated by Kent Police. I have built up particular specialization in prosecuting child abuse and am now developing that role to include abuse against vulnerable adults. I represent CPS on the Kent Safeguarding Children Board and the Safeguarding Adults Board and I am the county lead for Speaking up for Justice. I am also a member of the Kent Child Witness Service Advisory Committee.
Aside of work, I am married with no children. I am a trustee for Victim Support Kent Ltd and an active member of Soroptimist International.
