Biography
Elaine Hardie -
BA Hons in Applied Social Sciences
Elaine has worked across the spectrum of services for people who have learning disabilities for eleven years; from residential settings to day services to supporting people within their own homes to Crisis Resolution Teams.
For 8 years Elaine worked within a Local Authority Training Section. During this time she delivered a wide range of training around the area of social care and more specifically learning disability, in addition to undertaking training needs analysis, devising & delivering training plans. She was also responsible for managing the Social Services Training Section, workforce development and accessing funding opportunities
In August 2005 Elaine became a freelance trainer / consultant and currently delivers a wide variety of both management and social care training. She is involved in a wide range of different projects from supporting people with learning disabilities to achieve OCN accredited qualifications, investigating complaints made against social services and advocacy work.
Elaine also has direct involvement around accessing care services in her role as a carer for her husband who has a physical disability.
